The heart of Simon & Ruby is travel, leaving pieces of our hearts in places that move us, and finding new pieces of ourselves along the road. Two of the places closest to our hearts have been impacted by unforeseen disaster in the last two weeks.
The story: Kaua’i, and specifically Hanalei Bay, have been devastated by storm water and the rains have returned. As flooding and landslides continue, residents are being airlifted out.
Hanalei has been such an incredible source of beauty to us, and is the inspiration for our current collection. We want to make sure to share the beauty and community back as they so urgently need it.
Town and Country Mag reports: “With over 28 inches of rain in 24 hours in Hanalei, Hawaii Governor David Ige issued an emergency proclamation for the region.” Rains have returned to the region, and help is needed.
Hawai’i Magazine has shared the following information and links.
